Residential Care

Abbeyfield Loughborough has gradually moved over the last few years into care for dementia residents with their application for Dementia Registration going through in October 2010 with the Care Quality Commission. At Westfield House on Westfield Drive over 80% of the residents are designated as dementia residents.

As well as providing high quality dementia care and care for the frail and elderly, Abbeyfield Loughborough are looking to provide an extra care facility at one of their sites to provide all round care for the elderly. Abbeyfield Loughborough recognise the rapid changes in care over recent years and have adapted the service they provide for these changing needs, hence the Dementia Care Registration.

My recent background has been working as a line Manager for Adult Social Care and Health. However I also spent several years working in further education facilitating information to Deaf learners using high level British Sign Language skills.

Working at Abbeyfield has taken me back to the infancy of my career as a Care Assistant supporting older people. I will strive to empower my team to contribute whole heartedly to the ongoing care and affection for our Abbeyfield residents.
